Except I was making my friend watch Mean Girls via Skype (On a Wednesday, wearing pink :P) and sorting my e-books to check if they were working on my new reader and as I read out the first paragraph as a joke, I had this overwhelming urge to find out what happened next. Most of the books I’ve read in 2016 have been sappy romances and I had no intention of adding another to the list so soon. Let me begin by saying that I really did not plan on reading this book. Tessa Dare’s Romancing the Duke not only meets these expectations but exceeds them. It is a truth universally acknowledged that if one is reading a historical romance, one must have a heroine to root for, a hero to swoon for, know this story may have a happy ending, and that’s the only predictability you’re going to have. ![]()
